UHA CONSERVATION EFFORTS
Our conservation program is built on one simple idea: putting dollars back on the ground where they make a difference for wildlife and sportsmen.
Through the state’s conservation tag program, we have the opportunity to auction select hunting tags every year for a 3-year cycle. These tags generate funding that directly supports wildlife conservation and habitat improvement projects across the state.
But the real value isn’t just in selling a tag — it’s in what happens after.
HOW THE FUNDING WORKS
When a conservation tag is auctioned, the proceeds are distributed in three parts:
-
10% remains with our organization to strengthen our programs and operations
-
30% goes directly to the state wildlife division
-
60% is directed to conservation projects
That 60% is where we make a meaningful impact.
Unlike many funding streams where decisions are made without us at the table, we have the ability to help direct where those conservation dollars go. That means we are not just observers – we are active partners in wildlife management.
WHY THIS MATTERS

BUILDING MOMENTUM FOR THE FUTURE
While other conservation groups have been involved in this program for many years, we are steadily building our presence and our impact. Each cycle strengthens our position and expands our ability to contribute.
Our goals remain clear:
-
Support meaningful conservation projects
-
Strengthen partnerships with wildlife managers
-
Protect hunting opportunities for future generations
-
Ensure houndsmen have a voice in wildlife management
Conservation is not just about protecting wildlife — it’s about responsible stewardship, collaboration, and ensuring that sportsmen remain an active part of the future.
We are proud to be investing in that future.
